Compulsive Behaviour

Practice makes perfect…or does it?

Our Grandparents reminded us that ‘everything should be in moderation’ though they also prescribed that ‘a little bit of what you fancy does you good’

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if life was that easy and so easily balanced?

Most people are ‘compulsive’ to some degree and spend their lives fighting the
little voice on their shoulder that encourages them to over eat or under eat, to have the extra glass of wine or to check and re-check or to clean and re-clean.

Generally, to live a simple healthy life with a balanced diet and regular sleep and
exercise, we need to be emotionally balanced in ourselves.

We’ve all heard of ‘comfort eating’ and we’ve maybe heard how the therapists will
often talk about ‘emotionally eating’ and how ‘food is mood’.

Though these examples relate to food they do illustrate perfectly how we can react
when we are ‘off track’.

Simon Edwards will show his Clients at the very beginning of his work with them, how and why we all have an element of ‘compulsivity’ inside us and how the journey of compulsive behaviour can lead (in some personality types) to it’s ultimate end in addiction.

You can see some of the Conditions that Simon works with on the home page – if you cannot find the condition you wish to discuss please send him an email

Simon uses “MindMeasuring™”: when working with fears, phobias and compulsive behaviour and illustrates to his Clients week by week how he can measure their ‘mood’ to be more balanced as he re-calibrates the positive and negative accelerators and brakes – thus negating the need for excesses.

New Clients should contact their GP to share their symptoms prior to meeting with Simon and to discuss his qualifications and experience when working with Compulsive Behaviour.
